OPIUM / AlbatrOSS workshop (25 February 2004)
The Opium and AlbatrOSS projects will be hosting a joint end of projects
workshop in the Fokus building in Berlin on Wed 25th February 2004. The
objective of the workshop will be to promote the results of the projects
to a targeted community of invited attendees.
The projects are complementary in their topics 2.5/3G Networks and Service testbeds (Opium) and 3G OSSs and Services (AlbatrOSS) and should raise some interesting debates and discussions.

2nd OSA Parlay Plugtests Event (26-30 January 2004)
This event is run in cooperation with the ETSI SPAN OSA project, the
EU IST OPIUM project and the Parlay group.
The interoperability event
will focus on interoperability between devices interconnected around OSA
interfaces, and particularly:
- The Applications, the Applications Servers.
- The Gateways.
- The Simulators.

OPIUM Trial 2 (01 August 2003 - 29 February 2004)
This Trial 2 concentrates on the validation of end-to-end service mobility,
interoperability and roaming solutions through the interconnection of
open middleware platforms. These trials will assess several aspects related
to roaming users as VHE features, Location base services issues, Charging
and accounting issues. To accomplish this the individual testbeds that
were used in Trial 1 are interconnected to create the desired Pan-European
network
OPIUM Review (26 November 2003)
The first OPIUM review will take place in Brussels on the 26th November
2003. This review will cover tasks carried out from the start of the project
up until the end of the first Trial period.
OPIUM Trial 1 (01 March - 30 June 2003)
The objective of this trial phase is to reuse and exploit to a large extent,
available end user services, service architectures and platforms, and networks.
This trial will be carried out at separate testbeds at UK (Swindon), Spain (Barcelona
and Madrid), Germany (Berlin), Portugal (Lisbon/Aveiro) and China (Nanjing).
The primary aim of the trial is to demonstrate the operation of advanced multimedia
based services across 2.5/3G networks. Prime importance will be given to the
role of the OSA/Parlay gateway as an open interface for access by these value
added service to network resources and management information.

OPIUM Kick-Off Meeting (17-19 June 2002)
The kick-off meeting for the OPIUM project wil take place in Dublin on
the 17-19 June 2002.
